Morning of Your Wedding: A Beauty Timeline for a Stress-Free Start.

Your wedding morning should feel like a fun girls day , not a frantic episode of “Let’s See Who Can Find the Lash Glue First.” And because the first few hours set the tone for the entire day, having a solid beauty timeline is everything.

As a mobile wedding hair and makeup team based right here in Oakville (and happily travelling to Burlington, Mississauga, Milton, and beyond), we’ve helped hundreds of brides start their day calm, comfortable, and picture-ready.

Here’s our guide to creating a smooth, stress-free wedding morning — complete with realistic timing and the little details that make all the difference.

1. Start With a Timeline You Actually Love

Your hair and makeup schedule should feel like a gentle flow, not a military operation.

For most weddings, we recommend starting 4–6 hours before you leave for your ceremony or photos. It sounds early, but trust us — your future self (and your photographer) will thank you for the breathing room.

A typical morning looks like this:

  • Bridal makeup: 60 minutes

  • Bridal hair: 60 minutes

  • Bridesmaids/moms: 45 minutes per service

  • Touch-ups + final fluffing: 15 minutes before you head out

And don’t worry — we help create this schedule for you so every person knows exactly where they fit in.

2. Your Preview Sets You Up for Success

Your wedding preview (often called a trial) is more than just a fun glam session, it’s where we design your look, refine every detail, and make sure you feel like you… but a little extra magical.

Because we focus on natural, soft, effortless beauty, we’ll also chat about your skin, hair texture, accessories, and overall vibe to make sure everything works together seamlessly on the day of.

3. Keep Everything Organized in One Spot

This is where our client portal becomes your new favourite thing.

Inside your portal, you’ll find:

  • Your contract

  • Your wedding morning beauty schedule

  • Your inspiration photos

  • Your preview photos

  • Tips and prep instructions

All the important details we need to keep your morning running like butter melting on warm toast

Photographers love it, planners love it, and it lets you relax knowing everyone on your beauty team is working from the same beautifully organized plan.

4. Prep Your Skin + Hair Like a Pro

Good prep = better results.

A few simple rules:

  • Please don’t arrive with dirty hair. That myth died years ago. Clean, dry hair styles best.

  • Moisturize your skin well so makeup sits beautifully.

  • Avoid trying anything new (skincare treatments, self-tanner, etc.) the week of your wedding.

  • Wear a cute button-down or robe so you don’t have to shimmy out of a hoodie while protecting your hair.

We also send the wedding and a hair prep guide 18 days before your wedding so you’re never guessing.

5. Stay Hydrated, Fed, and Relaxed

It sounds obvious, but brides often forget to eat and drink amid the excitement.

Have snacks ready, sip water, and set up a cosy getting-ready space with natural light, comfy seating, outlets, and a playlist that makes everyone feel good.

6. Build a Buffer (Your Secret to Staying Calm)

If your photographer wants you ready by 12:00pm., we finish you by 11:30am.

This gives you time for:

  • Touch-ups

  • Change into your dresses

  • A quick bathroom break

  • A first-dance practice in your slippers (it happens more than you think)

That tiny buffer is the difference between stressed and serene.

7. Don’t Forget Your Touch-Up Essentials

We provide individual touch-up kits with lipstick, blotting papers, and Q-tips, but we also suggest keeping a small beauty pouch with:

  • Pressed setting powder

  • Bobby pins

  • Lash glue (just in case)

  • Tissues

  • Mini hairspray

Your maid of honour becomes the guardian of this pouch… it’s a sacred duty.
