I’m Alyson, the lead artist, the admin, the marketer, manager, social media person and owner behind Emerald Beauty. After 18 years in the industry, I still get so excited when I see a client light up when they see themselves in the mirror after their hair and makeup.

At the heart of everything I do is this: helping women feel like themselves, just with a whole lot more confidence. Most of my clients aren’t heavy makeup wearers, and honestly? Same.

People always tell me they feel comfortable with me right away. I’m usually the first one to share an embarrassing story just to break the ice and get a laugh. I want every person who sits in my chair to feel at ease, heard, and genuinely cared for. No pressure, no ego, no “you have to look like this” energy… just warmth, skill, and a whole lot of heart.

* Surprising fact: I hate coffee, seafood and peppers. Yes, hate, with a passion!
* Random fact: I was top of my class in electricity, but hair and makeup still won for career choice.

Our gorgeous bride originally had her heart set on a half-up pony style, but once she picked out her beautiful pearl accessories from our studio we knew that style wouldn’t show them off, or work well with her veil.

When your bride is ready to cut loose, Footloose 💃 but her tiara refuses to budge.

Rebecca’s dance floor takeover happened about 10 hours after I installed her tiara. Two hours into her epic moves it was still rock solid, and by 3 a.m.—after countless spins, head-bangs, and footloose-worthy jumps—her hair was still in place.

The secret? A little hairstylist magic.
✨ Placed the tiara partway through her updo.
✨ Attached fishing wire from the back two points, then finished the updo to hide the wire.
✨ Used a curved needle and four invisible anchor points along the front—going through the bottom of the tiara and catching a bit of hair with the fishing wire.
✨ Double knotted and trimmed the wire for zero movement and maximum dance floor confidence.
